Illustrated Children’s Magazine for the City of Leipzig

Editorial Illustration

The city of Leipzig asked me to design and illustrate a 26-page magazine for children about the city and its history.

The content was provided by a group of twelve-year-old children, who also functioned as art directors — a tough crowd to please! During two workshops with the group, we developed the lead characters, ghost »Flipsi« and bat »Frida«, who guide the reader through the magazine. The kids had very specific ideas for the look of the two characters and I followed their instructions closely.

The magazines were given away for free to schools in Leipzig. Because of the great response, a second run has already been printed.
